So youtube does a pretty good job of turning transcripts into timed subtitles. And we can use those subtitles in DVD Studio Pro. Cool.
But what if you don't have access to the backend of the clip?
We used to be able to use a firefox extension, but it's not working in latest combo of firefox and flash player.
The answer: 4k Video downloader a standalone app that grabs the vid and the SRT file.
Remember to use jubler to convert it to a DVDSP friendly STL file.

I have a site that gets heaps of crappy hotmail registrations.

I've been using mollom for a while and it works OK, but I still sometimes ge 20 useless registrations a day.

The site doesn't require email verification to make the ecommerce smoother.

After months of frustation, I discovered the Honeypot module, no crap registrations since install!

I wonder if real people can still register? Hmm, have to check that.

So I got some major errors trying to get Media and media Gallery to work. (why, why, why?).

The site just crashed with an error message. Couldn't get direct to admin pages nothing.

I worked out that you can get to the watchdog table directly in the database via PHPMyadmin.

Then you can download the Blob of the error and open in text wrangler.

This should let you what module is Freaking and you can disable via the "system" table by setting it's status to 0.

It sucks basically.

Here are some things you can do.

Import the subtitles before you put video on the track to prevent timecode mismatch errors

To edit subtitles properly, not one by feaking one.

Export dvd item description for the track you want.

Extract subtitles using "Subtitle Xtractor"

Work with them in "Jubler"

Save as .stl

Import the .stl back into DVDsp

To burn the subtitles back into FCP.

Same as above but import the .stl file you saved out of Jubler in Belle Nuit Subtitler.

Change the look and feel. Check all the text is showing up.
